Engineers Day June 26, 2009

One day a year the Soo Locks opens the gates for visitors to cross over the MacArther and Poe locks and tour the gov. buildings normally only seen from a distance. The locks remain operational during this time. Lake traffic up close and personal. Displays and presentations on the operation, history and future of the locks.
Down the street on Portage Ave. Edison Sault opens it's doors for tours of their Hydroelectric plant, (longest in the world), and Lake Superior State Universitys' Fish Lab.
