Liverpool Chamber is working with CT Investment Partners to host a series of Energy and Environment Lunches during the course of 2012. The lunches feature an exciting range of speakers and aim to highlight opportunities for new business arising from the transition to a Low Carbon economy.
The next Energy and Environment Lunch will focus on Low Carbon Exports. The North West of England is the larger exporter of low carbon and environmental goods and services outside London and the South-East according to the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (2012). The Chamber wishes to host a special lunchtime event that will highlight business opportunities, advice and assistance available for companies that currently export or who are considering doing so and who wish to expand their activities specifically in overseas low carbon goods and service industries.
The luncheon will feature a fantastic range of speakers who will provide an overview of the market opportunity for Merseyside firms, key sources of foreign demand, help and assistance available to penetrate these markets and an insight into the unwritten rules of doing business in this sector abroad. It will seek to highlight key opportunities, methods and pitfalls of doing business internationally and identify lessons for businesses with both universal and contextual significance.
The event will be of interest to any company in Liverpool City-Region and the wider North West that wishes to explore the potential for new business offered by overseas growth markets. Companies do not have to be in the low carbon sector or export-ready in order to attend and will benefit from the experiences of similar firms that have taken the first significant steps of starting to trade internationally. As such it will attract both users and suppliers of low carbon products, services and technologies and to those who are considering a diversification of their activities to tap into the opportunities provided by this sector both at home and abroad.
