Background: Families and Bikes was formed by C.I.C.L.E. in partnership with a group of enthusiastic parents to encourage, educate, and enable local families to bicycle together. Beyond a variety of health benefits, such as improved cardiovascular fitness, cycling is an easy, low-cost, and environmentally-friendly way for children and their families to have fun, while connecting with the outdoors and with each other.
Cyclists Inciting Change thru Live Exchange (C.I.C.L.E.) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that works with individuals and communities to promote the bicycle as a viable, healthy, and sustainable transportation choice. C.I.C.L.E. projects include Bike Week Pasadena, lifestyle focused and skill-building safety workshops, and Urban Expeditions, a monthly community-focused bicycle ride aimed at getting more people out of their cars and onto bikes. www.CICLE.org
