It's a silver anniversary, celebrating the beginning of the Hearst dynasty and the silver mining success of United States Senator from California George Hearst, father of William Randolph. You will dig the live and silent auction items like swims in the Roman or Neptune pools or special private Castle tours. In previous years a luxury trip to Paris, a Day of Indulgence at the Castle and an African photo safari came to the block in support of art and education. With a tip of the hardhat to one of the captains of the Comstock Lode, maybe some of this year's items will be gilded in precious metals.
