Emily of Emerald Hill: Singaporean Identity on Stage May 31, 2012

This exhibition at the Peranakan Museum examines how the play was created, and the different ways it has been performed over the years. Visitors will gain deeper insights into the story, which was inspired by the author’s own experience growing up in a mansion on Emerald Hill. As the play reflected rich Peranakan culture, it also helped launch Singapore’s lively theatre scene.
