In this first part of a series exploring new Argentinean music, pianist/composer Fernando Otero, one of the most relevant figures in modern Tango in the world, will play original music infused by sounds from the streets of Buenos Aires and by classical/contemporary music. On the same bill pianist/composer Emilio Teubal will lead his New York based seven-piece band La Balteuband, which brings a totally new perspective to Argentine jazz: original music infused by Folkloric polyrhythms, the lyricism of Tango music, the energy of the Candombe, and some hints of free improvisation and minimalism music.
