John Henny is a voice teacher and self confessed vocal nerd, with a wicked sense of humour! (That’ll be the Scottish parents).
LA based, John maintains a private studio where he provides vocal technique and rehabilitation to the entertainment community. He works with singers helping them to develop their voices and maintain their voices when on tour or in the recording studio.
John is regarded as a true Teacher of Teachers. He has taught vocal technique to voice teachers all over the globe. He is known amongst many singing teachers as the go-to-person for anything related to formant tuning and vowel modification when singing throughout the range. He is a great communicator and teacher, taking what could be a very dry subject and making it palatable for even the most non-technical singer. Coupled with his ability to help you find resonances in your own voice that you only dreamed of, you will discover a new vocal ease when singing the most difficult of notes and sounds.
John works with artists who have starred in Broadway and touring productions of Jersey Boys. Miss Saigon, Godspell, Les Miz, Movin’ Out, Avenue Q and more. John’s students have had starring roles on Desperate Housewives, Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, Glee and have been finalists on American Idol and The X Factor. Some of his student’s have been signed to Interscope, Warner Brothers, RCA and Universal, to name just a few.
As a writer John served as vocal expert and columnist for Backstage Magazine, contributing articles on vocal technique and health. Check out these articles written by John, called “The Seven Deadly Singing Sins” and “Hitting Those High Notes“. If you go to the Backstage website and search John’s name there are many more useful articles addressing relevant singing topics.

John will be in London and Europe to help singers and singing teachers gain vocal command through the use of formant tuning and balanced vocalising.
