This class is all about making things from the very basics. Students will create fabric dolls, pillows or stuffed animals stitched entirely by hand. They will have the choice of several patterns, including a rag doll or a teddy bear, to make from scratch. From pinning and cutting the fabric, to hand-embroidering the face, to hand stitching every seam on this project, students will learn new skills while building friendships in this old-time quilting bee atmosphere. Students wanting to work specifically on embroidery can make a pillow sampler with a variety of stitches, using a composition of their very own! Fabrics provided will include cotton, cotton flannel, and fleece. Students wishing to make animals from fake fur should contact the instructor, as fees will be slightly higher.
