Elvis Week 2009 Memphis, TN August 7, 2009

Elvis Fans gather to honor the King and pay tribute to Elvis, the man, his music, his life and his contribution to the music world. The legacy he left to mankind will never be forgotten. There is a candlelight vigil starting at 9:00 pm on the 15th starting at the Gracelan Plaza that ends on the anniversary of his death on the 16th of August across the street at Graceland at Elvis's gravesite. There isn't a cost to attend the vigil. The shops on the Plaza have Elvis memoralbilia or you can visit Graceland and see where Elvis lived. The tickets to visit Graceland are available for purchase at Graceland Plaza. There will also be the third annual Ultimate Elvis Tribute Contest at the Cannon Center with the semifinalist competing on Aug. 12th and the Finalist competing on Aug. 13th. The winner will be The Ultimate Tribute Artist of 2009. Tickets for this event are available through ticketmasters. Entertainment under the tent at Graceland Plaza is free and is a favorite for many of us visiting from out of state. We meet and make new friends each year.
