Elmhurst Choral Union, full professional orchestra and soloists perform Brahms’ moving portrayal of hope, comfort, and Heaven, A German Requiem.

Brahms wrote this requiem as a memorial to his mother, and his deep feelings are reflected in both the music and the text. Instead of using traditional Latin texts, Brahms opened his childhood Bible and chose verses about life’s brevity and the assurance of Heaven.
