Elisabeth Withers-Mendes can currently be seen on Broadway where she plays Shug Avery in 'The Color Purple,' for which she received both Tony Award and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations. Her previous credits include recording and performing with arists such as Luther Vandross, Cher, Celine Dion, Henry Krieger and Narada Michael Walden. She sang on the steps of the White House with Quincy Jones and Steven Spielberg for 'The 2000 Millenium Concert,' and wrote the single 'Emotions,' which held the number one spot on the Billboard Music Charts for three weeks straight.
