ELIJAH FORD: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27 AT 7 PM

Hotel Havana welcomes Austin-based musician Elijah Ford to play at Ocho on Wednesday, June 27 at 7 pm. There is no cover charge to attend.

After taking a break from touring with his regular band, Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses, Ford began focusing on his solo career and his debut album. Teaming up with his father and ex-Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford to produce the album, Ford released Upon Waking in October of last year.

The album draws inspiration from many of Ford's musical role models including the poetic lyrical stylings of David Bazan and the melodic rock influences of The Strokes and St. Vincent. Ford's father also added some of his own flair to the album, mixing in a wailing guitar to several tracks. Even though Ford will be rejoining Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses on the road in 2012, he is not abandoning his solo career in any way. He plans to keep writing, recording and playing every chance he gets.
