One of the most important things an entrepreneur needs to do is learn how to clearly articulate his or her business proposition to others. Being able to sum up the unique value of your company in a way that excites others is a critical skill. Yet many entrepreneurs fail to develop an effective "elevator pitch" - the quick, compelling summary of what makes your company extraordinary.

You will probably never pitch your company in an elevator, but you will have many, many opportunities to tell your story. Most entrepreneurs want to explain what they are doing, sometimes in excruciating detail. But the point of your elevator pitch is not to educate, it's to sell. Your goal is to get your audience to say, "Wow! That's really interesting. Tell me more!" And you only have a few seconds.

What you will learn and practice in this interactive workshop:

The key must have elements of an elevator pitch
How investors' brains work, and sometimes don't
Why you need less time, not more time for your pitch
How to keep your listener engaged
Mistakes that derail your pitch
What a Profit Mantra is, and why it is critical to your success
How to differentiate yourself from the rest of the crowd
How to get to Wow!

This is a highly interactive workshop. Participants will craft and share their versions of the key components of their elevator pitches, and will be critiqued by the coaches and by the other participants.

Coaches:
Bill Reichert: Managing Partner, Garage Technology Ventures
