Deborah Henson-Conant headlines the Thayer Symphony’s Holiday Pops Concerts as the soloist with Maestro Lane and the orchestra in two shows at two different venues: Sat. Dec. 13th at 7:30pm at Dukakis Performing Arts Center in Fitchburg and Sun. Dec. 14th at 6:00pm at Leominster City Hall in Leominster. Tickets available by phone at 978-466-1800.

Deborah Henson-Conant, a Grammy-Nominated Composer/Performer/Electric Harpist, was just nominated for a 2008 Boston Music Award. Described as a “combination of Leonard Bernstein, Steven Tyler and Xena the Warrior Princess” by the Boston Globe, Henson-Conant has performed worldwide in venues from jazz clubs to symphony halls and has appeared on shows from “Charlie Rose” to “The View.” She is the star of her own TV special, “Invention & Alchemy,” which aired on PBS stations nationwide in 2007/2008.

Henson-Conant writes all her own songs, stories and orchestrations, collaborating with the orchestra to reinvent the interplay of soloist and symphony into a more interactive and theatrical format she dubs "symphonic music theatre." Her performances with the Thayer Symphony will feature her original music and stories, along with her re-imagined Holiday classics.
