9pm - "THE BLOWOUT KIT"-Phoenyx-vocals/keys, Clean-lead guitar, Dennis Bunn-guitar, Justice-drums/vocals. *** http://www.myspace.com/theblowoutkit. The brainchild of lead guitarist Dennis Bunn, this gifted 4-piece band also includes drummer and vocalist Justice Young. A fusion of hip-hop, rock, jazz, funk & gospel creates and defines their sound, self-described as "The Roots" meets "No Doubt". The explosive musical experience THE BLOWOUT KIT consistently delivers blesses both listeners and artists alike, making it one of the heaviest sought-after bands on the East Coast and southern regions. Their dynamic reputation has brought opportunities to perform alongside several local and national artists, including Avant and Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry) as well as being the featured band of the 2nd Annual DMV Entertainment & Music Awards. A wealth of experience is what makes this young band so extraordinary. Collective experiences include writing and performing with national recording artists such as Aaron Hall, Biv10 (Michael Bivins), TLC, Damnation A.D., Venues performed include Howard University's Cramton Auditorium (DC); Sounds Of Brazil (NYC); 9:30 Club (DC); Tabernacle (Atlanta); Troubadour (LA).

10pm-1am -Includes:
"THE JASON MEZA BAND"-Jason Meza-lead vocals/rhythm guitar/piano, Bernard Floyd-electric lead guitar, Mark West-stand-up bass/vocals and Mike Pearsh-drums. They are a rock and roll/blues cover band with some country, reggae and jazz thrown in and have been playing together for three years all around the Northern V.A. and D.C. Metropolitan Area. *** http://www.myspace.com/jasonmeza. Jason Meza Band has a great eclectic sound brought on by the backrounds of each member. Mark played stand up bass in many jazz bands and folk groups before joining "The Jason Meza Band" but always loved rock n' roll. Mike on drums provides a steady and hard hitting drive but can tone it down at will to fill in on a love song or ballad. With great rhythm and timing he is a steady backbeat that every great band needs. Bernard is a powerhouse on the lead guitar and has a unique style and set up on stage. Just take a glance over at his electric guitar amp one time and you'll understand. When he gets going it is electrifyingly rapid fast and the tones he gets are amazing. He loves to rock out but he can slow it down as well and have the listener drawn into his world. Jason has many influences so you may hear him do a Beatles tune like "The Long and Winding Road" on piano, then hear him get very soulful on a Sam Cook or Otis Redding number like "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay," He grew up on blues and rock n' roll but just loves a good melody in a tune; from Dean Martin on a song like "Return to Me," over to country and western with "Folsom prison Blues" by Johhny Cash. Jason is self-proclaimed as half Peruvian and good ole American white boy. So some of his original songs which the band plays from time to time has a Latin feel to it. In the end, they love music and believe that it comes in many forms just like people do. So they try and bring as much of it to the people as possible. With Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff" to Willie Nelson's "Always on my Mind" how can one go wrong?
The members of the band vary in age and experience. Jason is the baby in the group and has been writing songs and performing live for 8 years while the other band members have been going strong for over 20 years. This just adds to the overall sound of the band and audiences have been giving their approval through applause and dancing which is what the band is all about. They love to play and love to see people having a great time at their shows.
