On Tuesday, April 27 the fifth annual El Poder de la Mujer (Empowered Woman) Conference will be held for the first time in Washington County, at PCC’s Rock Creek Campus (17705 NW Springville Rd, building 9 Event Center) from 8am to 6pm.
Susan Castillo, State Superintendent of Public Education will be the keynote luncheon speaker.
Other confirmed speakers include Ruthie Flores, a national expert on teen pregnancy; Dr. Rebecca Hernandez, an expert on Latino retention in education; Dora Garcia the public affairs manager for the Nielsen Company, and esteemed author Juana Bordas.
The day’s agenda also features creativity workshops with artist Yolanda Valdes-Remeriento, college preparation and health and wellness sessions.
