'Love in the Time of Cholera' is a new play by OBIE Award-winning playwright Caridad Svich and directed by Jose Zayas. This is a lyrical, imagistic play that focuses on an extraordinary love story between a poetically-inclined man named Florentino Ariza and a sensual, practical, yet somewhat elusive woman named Fermina Daza. Spanning fifty years of time, the story plays out in a series of short scenic episodes filled with poetry, song, movement and heightened moments of theatricality. 'Love in the Time of Cholera' will be presented in Spanish with the company's new "Simultext" Captioning System, which offers subtitles in English and Spanish delivered by video screens on each individual seat.
