Eiko & Koma offer 'Naked,' a new marathon-like living installation for which they will be on view, nude, four to six hours a day for two weeks. 'Naked: A Living Installation' will take place in Studio 6A of the Baryshnikov Arts Center. An exploration of nakedness, desire, vulnerability and the elasticity of time, 'Naked' features Eiko & Koma's powerful slow movement performed in an immersive and charged organic environment of their own design, composed of burnt canvas, soil, feathers, rice paste, sea salt and dripping water. Audiences are welcome to arrive anytime and stay as long as they wish. Admission is free and multiple visits are encouraged. Audience members can bring drawing or writing material. In adjacent spaces, a companion video installation of Eiko & Koma's media work will be on view. The New York premiere of 'Naked at BAC' is a part of Carnegie Hall's citywide JapanNYC Festival and is presented in partnership with Asia Society and Danspace Project.
