"Egoless" Art Exhibit Opening August 8, 2009

LEGO YOUR EGO AND FIND YOUR ID
AT FEMINA POTENS' AUGUST ART EXHIBITION, 'EGOLESS'

The 'Egoless' project is an examination of the relationship between ego and creative expression, and an investigation of priorities in the effort to separate the two. In May 2009 we divided our fifteen participating artists into five groups of three with each team being tasked to produce three pieces. Each artist had a month to start their own creation before handing over their piece to another member of the group to continue the artwork with absolutely no restrictions. Then in July the artworks were passed yet again to another artist to finish the work providing us with 15 completely communal art pieces that are a testament to the power of artistic surrender.

Our contributing artists are: Annalee Lanier, Stephanie Mufson, Sera Mac, Shelley Monahan, Sarah Lippincott, Lilea Duran, Jeeti Singh, Julie Sutherland, Lydia Danlier, Erin McElroy, Emily MacDonald, Ehren Reed, Britt Howard, Beth Grin, and ABR.
