Chestnut Hill College will host a dinner and keynote address by career and communications expert Pamela J. Holland on Friday, January 8, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Rotunda and Social Effective Communication: At the Heart of Education Room of St. Joseph Hall. Pamela J. Holland will speak on the topic “.” Chestnut Hill College is located at 9601 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia.

This year’s program is designed to rejuvenate and sharpen teacher’s communication skills. This interactive presentation will help attendees gain an awareness of how a teacher’s visual, vocal, and verbal presence affects success in the classroom with parents, and the school community. Participants will learn techniques to enhance professionalism in Montessori or any classroom setting.

The evening will begin with a wine and cheese reception at 6 p.m., followed by a welcome from Carol M. Pate, Ed.D., Chair of the Department of Education at Chestnut Hill College. The keynote speech will begin at 8 p.m. with a book signing to follow.

Pamela J. Holland is the former chief operating officer of Brody Professional Development in Jenkintown, Pa. and has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and human resources. She believes that strong interpersonal skills and self awareness give companies and individuals a competitive edge and most importantly, that professionalism is more important than ever for success. She has made regular appearances as a workplace expert on “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle” on the Comcast Network and as a guest on The 10! Show in Philadelphia. She is a career columnist for USA Today, and the co-author of the award winning book, “Help! Was that a Career Limiting Move?”
