Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration to Host Free Open House for Educators and Their Families
October 2 event includes tours and a raffle for marine prizes
Everyone knows about Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration’s exciting animal exhibits, but did you know the aquarium has an Education Department that offers a variety of fun and engaging classes and programs? On Thursday, October 2 from 6:15 to 8 p.m., teachers of all grades, science coordinators, principals, superintendents and home schoolers and their families are invited to discover the aquarium’s many educational offerings that can enrich and expand students’ curricula.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see the aquarium’s classrooms, class materials and program outlines, meet the education department staff, explore a behind-the-scenes area and enter to win a free Penguin Encounter program and other marine prizes. In addition, visitors will have the rare opportunity to tour the aquarium after it is closed and the crowds have left.
