In honor of National Dance Week and their 5th anniversary, American Dance Institute will host a performance by EDGEWORKS Dance Theater (EDT), DC?s premier contemporary all-male company of predominantly black men.
EDT?s program will include an encore presentation of Founder and Artistic Director Helanius J. Wilkins? newest works, Melting The Edges and A Love Crisis, which they performed at their anniversary celebration this past March. The program will also feature special guest Ursula Payne, award-winning choreographer and performer based in Pennsylvania, and member of This Woman?s Work Collective, a group recently recognized as one of Dance Magazine?s ?Top 25 to Watch.?
Also joining Artistic Director and Choreographer Helanius J. Wilkins will be dancers Hunter Carter, Reginald Cole, Anthony Rollins-Mullens, and Vincent Thomas; special guest Teena Custer; and students from Slippery Rock University?s Department of Dance in Slippery Rock, PA.
