Echo Theatre Company's Production of Mary's Wedding
By Stephen Massicotte
Directed by Eric Little
Featuring Ben Nordstrom and Magan Wiles
Mary’s Wedding is an exhilarating story of first love, as well as a profound and riveting tale of war, remembrance and the sacrifice made by soldiers at home and in the battlefield. The sweeping drama weaves together actual events and battles from World War I with the romance of a young couple, Mary and Charlie. The play’s dream structure allows movement back and forth through time and place – from the farmyards of Canada to the trenches of France.
The Calgary Sun described Mary’s Wedding as “part love story, part history lesson and part moving memorial to the human cost of war.”
