I am hosting a East Side Cemetery Walk on Saturday, June 20th at 10AM. We will meet at the Baltimore Cemetery at the east end of North Avenue and walk toward Greenmount Cemetery via Oliver Street, making stops at the American Brewery, Bradford Street, Broadway and Durham Street. The route should be a total of 3.51 miles and we should expect to spend 3-4 hours on this walk. We will be leaving our cars at the Baltimore Cemetery.
The route should allow us to take some wonderful pictures of the the uniquely crafted white headstones and mausoleums of Baltimore Cemetery, the creative architecture of the brewery with its fanciful roofline and get some great shots of the stark structural lines of the typical east side row home. Greenmount Cemetery has fantastic statues, crypts and a cute stone chapel that lends itself to some great pictures.
You can return to your car afterward any way you wish, for those that are tired they can take a cab. Myself, I will walk back via North Avenue. Park inside the cemetery.
All participants will be expected to sign a hiking liability waiver.
