The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW presents Indonesian tenor Dani Dumadi and lyric soprano Jennifer Weingartner in "East Meets West: A Concert of Indonesian, American, Italian and English Songs.”

Dani Dumadi has sung with Indonesia's prestigious chamber-choir Batavia Madrigal Singers, the Master Chorale in Washington DC and currently as cantor for St. Michael the Archangel Church. He has been described as a "fine, lyrical tenor."

Jennifer Weingartner has performed with the 7 Sopranos, the Friday Morning Music Club Opera, New York Opera Studio and the Washington Savoyards, among others. She has been praised by The Washington Post for her, "clear, focused voice."

Barbara Schelstrate accompanies many singers, instrumentalists and choruses in the Washington area. She is currently the pianist for the Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp in Warm Springs, Virginia and the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington DC.

“East Meets West” immediately follows a reception and gallery opening for “Wrap It Up” by members of the Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL). The non juried mixed media show features small, original works by CHAL members suitable for holiday giving.

The "East Meets West" concert is on Saturday, December 12th, 2009 at 8PM. Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance or $20 at the door; purchase by calling 202-547-6839 or emailing victor@chaw.org.

The "Wrap It Up" reception and gallery opening are free to the public.
