East Meets West March 6, 2011

A program melding music from the East and West includes Arnold Schoenberg’s Ode to Napoleon, Ge Gan-ru’s “4 Studies of Peking Opera” for prepared piano and string quartet, and Zhou Long’s “Wild Grass” for solo cello and narrator.
Performing on the program is the Eclipse String Quartet: Sara Parkins and Sarah Thornblade, violin; Alma Lisa Fernandez, viola; Maggie Parkins, cello; Genevieve Feiwen Lee*, piano; with Michael Friedmann and Hsuanwei Fan ’12, narrators.
