East County YMCA Hosts ‘Healthy Kids Day’ Event April 18, 2009

SANTEE, CALIF. – The East County Family YMCA invites the community to participate in Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cameron Family YMCA, located at 10123 Riverwalk Drive in Santee.
YMCA Healthy Kids Day is a free, fun-filled day of activities designed to promote healthy kids and families in spirit, mind and body and celebrates making fitness fun.
As part of Healthy Kids Day, the Cameron YMCA will give free passes to kids to try out the Youth Fitness Center, a unique program just for the East County Family YMCA. In addition, there will be a snacks, prizes and games for families to enjoy as well as a large obstacle course surrounding the facility. Each child who completes the obstacle course will get a finisher ribbon. There will also be a gymnastic demonstration and sample fitness classes for teens and adults. And if that isn’t enough, participants will also be able to sign up their kids for YMCA summer camps and programs as well as enjoy refreshments.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is part of YMCA Activate America, an innovative public health initiative of the YMCA movement that is making healthy living a reality for millions of Americans.
