Come and celebrate Earth Day with us!
Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society, River Works and Stanley Park Ecology Society would like to invite you to a Ivy Removal the 12th of April from 10am to 1pm.
Invasive plant species have had devastating impacts in many areas, and are considered one of the greatest threats to biodiversity in our world today. English Ivy is known to create "Ivy desert" by establishing itself as the predominant groundcover in many of the large urban forests of the pacific northwest.
Through you participation in Ivy removal, you will make an important contribution to restoration efforts in Stanley Park, while working with a great group of people in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Date and time:
Saturday, April 12th from 10am to 1pm
What to wear and bring:
Please dress for the weather and wear solid footwear. Long sleeves are recommended as some people's skin reacts to the sap of the Ivy.
Bring plenty of water!
Meeting place:
We meet at the Stanley Park Ecology Society office, then head out to the site to do work.
If you would like to join, please contact us at info@northwestwildlife.com or call us @ 604-713-6686 to receive more information.
I am looking forward to meeting you for this Earth Day Stewardship Event,
I wish you a great sunny day,
Fanny
