Come out and celebrate Earth Day by joining us for this family-friendly 5th annual event at Spring Creek Forest Preserve as we clear out invasive species and clean up the land! The day includes ecological restoration of the woodlands and prairies, lunch, guest speakers, music, and even educational tours led by local naturalists. The event begins at 9:00am and will go until approximately 3:00pm. Come join us when you can!
Please wear long sleeves, long pants, a cap to protect your hair from sparks and sturdy shoes. Bring work gloves if you have them. Tools water and lunch will be provided.
Directions: Barrington Hills, north of I-90 on Rt. 72 (W. Higgins Rd.) 1 mile west of Rt. 59. Turn north on Wichman Road to the Headwaters parking lot.
Spring Creek is an ecologically diverse, large forest preserve that offers native plants and animals a protected oasis of 3,900 acres of land where they can nest, reproduce and live. We are working to restore this land as quickly as possible. The more volunteer hands we have, the more area will get cleared. Will you join us?
