Earth Day Celebration April 23, 2011

It’s our 21st birthday - come to HANC and help us celebrate! Family-friendly free exhibits and activities start at 9:00am and entertainment starts at 10:00 am. Around 2:00 we’ll have our fun annual Walking Parade and tree planting, followed by birthday cake for everyone. Sign up for free drawings for great prizes like a brand new compost bin, courtesy of the City of Roseville, a gift card to Half Price Books, and more! The free craft activity will be provided by Mosaic on a Stick (yes, you can make a mosaic on a stick to take home!).

The East Side Food Coop is joining us this year to promote recycling plastic waste, which they do on a weekly basis at their store in Minneapolis. You can learn about which plastics they accept and how to go about it. As usual, in the parking lot we (HANC) will be accepting certain things for free recycling. We are delighted to have Half Price Books as our first-ever Presenting Sponsor, with generous assistance from the Friends of Roseville’s Harriet Alexander Nature Center (FORHANC). As usual, this will be a Zero Waste Event, with Eureka! Recycling helping sort any waste into compost, recycling, and trash containers.
