Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day This one-day, outdoor festival will feature green vendors, presentations, concessions, new kids activities and live entertainment. In addition, guests will enjoy the Heards hiking trails, Live Animals of the World exhibit, butterfly garden, and have one last chance to see the indoor Treasures from The Earth: Diamonds, Gold and Dinos before it leaves. Bring recyclable products to support the Heards electronics recycling program. Activities: Kids activities will include inflatable slide, petting zoo, green craft project, mobile barn, Eco-Shopping Game, plus much more! Live stage entertainment on The Heards Outdoor Amphitheatre Stage will include live animal presentations, musicians, presentation of the citys Arbor Day Poster contest winner, and other presentations on how to live green. Currently scheduled: 9:30 to 9:45 a.m - City of McKinney Arbor Day Poster Contest Winners Announcement. 10:00 to 11 a.m - George Fuller Band. 11:15 to Noon - Blackland Prairie Live Birds of Prey Presentation. 1:00 to 1:45 p.m - McKinney Community Band Concert. 2:00 to 2:30 p.m - Heard Live Animal Presentation. 4:00 to 4:30 p.m - "Native Plants for North Central Texas" presented by Native Dave.
