On the air since 1991, 'E-Town' is a radio variety show with musicians, authors, environmental activists and community volunteer organizers. Hosts Nick and Helen Forster have welcomed such artists as Bruce Hornsby, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Emmylou Harris, James Taylor, Gillian Welch, Ralph Stanley, Willie Nelson and many others over the years. 'E-Town' is heard on over 150 public and commercial radio stations nationwide. Ray LaMontagne, a French-Canadian, made his musical presence known around Boston in the '60s heading up the house band at the famous blues club, Joe's Place. Blues musicians often traveled alone and used pickup-, or house-bands for their concerts, so Lamontagne enjoyed a rich sampling of blues history from players like Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor, and others.
