In celebration of Black History Month, DVA Productions brings you Profiles of Black: Snapshots of the African American Influence on American History. This show consists of two one-act pieces. Say It Loud by Jordan Cooper featuring the DVA Youth Workshop Performers. It is a collection of original and published poetry delivered with fun yet educational twist, and also showcases the DVA Youth Dancers. The Upper Room by diannetucker is a look into the personal relationship between Mahalia Jackson and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It features the most popular and pertinent speeches of Dr. King and moving songs of Mahalia Jackson. Sheran Goodspeed Keyton returns as Mahalia Jackson, and former City Councilman Donavan Wheatfall stars as Dr. King. This performance will provide a wide array of entertainment for people of all ages!!
