The Dust Poets are a lively five-piece acoustic folk-pop group with roots deep in the Canadian prairie. They perform the original music of lead singer-songwriter Murray D. Evans and it ranges in tone from the darkly humorous to the achingly tender. The band pokes fun at themselves and the world around them while spreading their own irreverent brand of small town angst and joy.
These Manitoba boys use an infusion of horns, drums, electric guitars and throw in accordions, mandolins, clarinets with great four part vocal harmonies for some genre bending originality. The band wanders easily among different styles including bluegrass, swing and even "circus freak ragtime."
The Lloydminster Concert Series Association acknowledges funding and support provided by Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, Canadian Heritage, Sask Lotteries, Sask Culture, Saskatchewan Arts Board, and Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
