Established in 1985, Dulcinea Langfelder & Co. creates audacious, intelligent and highly accessible multidisciplinary works. Langfelder’s creations fuse theatre, dance, song, puppetry and multimedia. Inspired Don Quixote’s muse, Dulcinea del Toboso, Dulcinea Langfelder and Company set out to take on Cervantes’ “absent heroine,” using her namesake to express her vision of the world and its history. You don’t need to have read the book to know intuitively who Dulcinea is. The question remains: does she exist? Does she live somewhere in all of us? “Langfelder performs as one possessed as she dives into this exploration of history, philosophy and feminism… a quixotic quest by a Chaplinesque performer, under the direction of the gifted Alice Ronfard.” Montreal Gazette
