DUBWISE was formed early 2004 with the intention of creating live dub the ancient way: how it was performed in Jamaica during the 70s.
We are all heavily influenced by Jamaican studio producers such as Lee Perry, King Tubby, Scientist, Prince Jammy, and uk dubmaster Adrian ‘ON.U Sound’ Sherwood. These are the pioneers who turned the use of a mixing desk into a form of art, using various effects such as echos, reverbs, phasers and so on. That is exactly why we have a live dub mixer on board.
Our musical background is rich and diversified. Next to being all reggae fanatics and having played in various bands in the Netherlands and abroad, the original sound is created by giving each musician the space and freedom to be ceative and inspired by the vibe we share, without any boundaries in genre. First and foremost, we´re a bunch of good friends sharing the same love and devotion to music. It is exactly this vibe that comes off when we start playing.

De LVP (Leidse Vereniging van Popmuzikanten) organiseert 2 x per maand een concert in de Q-bus, de zaal van muziekcentrum Het Muziekhuis in Leiden. Deze concertreeks, Project 24 genaamd, is in het leven geroepen om aanstormend Leids talent een podium te geven waar zij 'hun ding kunnen doen'. Van de Project 24 concerten worden audio en video opnames gemaakt en de concerten zijn live op internet te volgen. Vanaf 20:00 uur interviews met de bandleden en rond 21.00 het concert. Vanaf 5 september 2008 gaat de 2e reeks van start: De avonden beginnen om 20:00 uur met de Wiebe & Sjoerd Show waarna het concert rond 21:00 uur aanvangt. Op http://www.lvp-site.nl:8000/ kan men een groot archief van jonge en oude Leidse muziek uit heden en verleden vinden.
