Vanishing Breed is Alexander Holmes, a British singer-songwriter
who is currently based in Berlin. Alex (formally of they came form
the stars I saw them'), 'will perform a one man, one guitar, one
loops machine show taking inspiration from African Soukous,
Maringa and Palm Wine music. He calls he's music the New Electric
Hi-Life. Vanishing Breeds album Between arrival and departure
('album of the year' Die Zweit) is released byPingipung Records .

Alexander Holmes was one of the masterminds of the anarchistic
London crew They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them. But it would be
rather a shame if someone like him were actually among the species
to become extinct. Songwriter, guitarist and poet Alexander Holmes
has developed a wonderful and unique style all of his own. -
Vanishing Breed uses surreal imagery for his lyrics, while his
music often tends to have an element of misplacement. A moment of
irritation - like a stain on a shirt or a picture that hangs
crooked in its frame.
