Drupal7Camp will offer sessions and presentations specifically about Drupal 7 web development, performance and theming topics.
It will take place on May 21-22 2011 at Old broadcasting House in Leeds.
Drupal 7 was launched in January of this year and already has huge momentum. Many major contrib projects such as Views and Organic Groups have stable versions out, and this means that Drupal 7 is a viable platform for building client sites.
For the web developer community this means we have to get up to speed with what's new in 7. This weekend provides a great opportunity to do that, as all our sessions are focusing on D7. At the same time there's a Drupal Camp taking place in Edinburgh so we're billing the two as 'Britain does Drupal'. Depending on how the two camps' programmes develop we may well also share some sessions or speakers so you don't miss out.
As the Leeds Camp is focusing on D7, we thought we'd dispense with keynotes so we could get more sessions in. We're also planning an unconference in the afternoon so people can turn up with their own proposals. Also, we'll have a room where we'll build a Drupal 7 site during the weekend. The plan is that we should focus on a site for a charity or some other non-profit cause so people attending should feel free to make suggestions about what we should do.
There's a £20 attendance fee but we'll spend it all on Yorkshire delicacies and beer.
Register now to participate in this unique event. This is a fantastic opportunity to become more familiar with the Drupal 7 platform and to meet fellow designers, themers and developers.
