The next Washington, DC Drupal meetup will be on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 pm at Stetson's Bar and Grill. We have an awesome lineup of 5 minute lightning talks this month, all focused on performance and hosting Drupal:
* Frank Febbraro from Phase2 Technology will talk about improving performance in Drupal with CDNs and run through how his team implements these features on sites they have developed including WhiteHouse.gov and others.
* Dan Reif from Blackmesh will talk about how to configure Drupal for the ultimate performance, highlighting common configuration mistakes and solutions.
* Alex Barth from Development Seed will talk about the Aegir hosting system and how we plan to use it and Drush Make in development and staging.
* Mike Walsh from Acquia will talk about Acquia Hosting and what it provides.
We'll start the formal part of the meetup at 7:30 pm with a round of quick introductions, and then will go into the lightning talks above. If you'd like to give a quick talk or make an announcement, please either post about it here or speak up during the introductions and we'll make sure you get the floor. After the lightning talks, there will be time to talk to the presenters in more detail if you're interested, and for chatting over beers.
These meetups are a great opportunity to learn more about Drupal, find out details on some of the cool things local developers are working on, and get to know people using and working with Drupal in Washington, DC. We have a meetup each month on the second Monday of each month at Stetsons. Hope to see you there!
