Drums Along the Rockies July 7, 2012

A 49-year summer music tradition, Drums Along the Rockies brings the precision, passion and power that is marching music’s major league to Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High for an evening filled with the magic of drum and bugle corps competition.
A top-notch field of the nation’s elite corps includes three former Drums Corps International world champions. The Blue Devils of Concord, CA, the Santa Clara Vanguard, and Rockford, IL’s Phantom Regiment will strut their accomplishments in awe-inspiring sight and sound. They will be joined in competition by the Boston Crusaders, Academy from Tempe, AZ; Cascades, Woodinville, WA; the Troopers of Casper, WY and hometown favorite Blue Knights.
The event will provide the ultimate drum corps experience, from open-to-the-public warm-ups in the parking lot to the powerful field performances of brass, percussion and colorguard. A “must” for music lovers of any age, Drums Along the Rockies offers a close-up look at some of the most talented young musicians in the nation. Hosted by Denver’s Ascend Performing Arts with support from Xerox, Denver Post Community, 9News and 850KOA, a full schedule of pre-show activities includes the Blue Knights’ Alumni hospitality tent and the high school drumline Throw Down.
