Research has shown that drumming creates positive changes in immune system functioning. Drumming also relieves stress, energizes and is just plain fun! Facilitated by board-certified music therapist Maya Benattar, this workshop will provide an opportunity to connect with your own personal rhythms as well as create a group rhythm. A variety of drums and percussive instruments from around the world will be used, and games, songs and chants will introduce the “drum shy” to these in a playful manner. Absolutely no previous music experience is necessary! Maya Benattar holds a BS in Music Therapy from SUNY New Paltz and an MA in Music Therapy from New York University. A $10 fee is required at registration. Fee will be returned when you attend. Open to women living with cancer. To learn more or to pre-register (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) call Support Connection at 914-962-6402 or 800-532-4290.
