The Livonia Save Our Youth Task Force would like to invite all who are interested to “Drugs of Abuse-What’s Out There,” a special presentation that will focus on current national and regional drug use trends and drug prevention topics. Specific emphasis will be placed on issues associated with prescription and over the counter (OTC) drugs; gateway substances, heroin, marijuana and MDMA (ecstasy.)
This program will be presented by Rick Issacson, US Drug Enforcement Agent. Special Agent Issacson was appointed as Detroit’s DEA Demand Reduction Coordinator in 2000. He is responsible for overseeing all drug prevention activities conducted by the DEA in Michigan and Ohio. In 2005, Agent Issacson was awarded the PRIDE Youth Programs National Drug Enforcement Agent of the year Award in Cincinnati, Ohio. His presentation is extremely informative, and will provide the most up to date information available on substance abuse issues affecting our area’s young people.
This presentation is sponsored by the Livonia Save Our Youth Task Force. It will be held on Wednesday September 19, 2007, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, in the St. Mary Mercy Hospital Auditorium at 36475 W. Five Mile Road, Livonia. It is free and open to all, and no registration is required.
This program should be heard by parents, other family members, and anyone who works with, supports or cares about young people.
