It's summer and it's hot. It's hard to get motivated to knit anything. But, you don't have to give up your fiber addiction just because it's hot. You can learn to spin yarn! I have really enjoyed this new addition to my fiber skills and I am excited to share it with you. Join me on July 19 from 10AM-1PM at the Lone Tree Library for a class where you'll make your own drop spindle and learn to spin yarn!
Once you learn this technique, you can spin just about anywhere you can knit. In this class, you'll make a spindle out of materials you find at the hardware store, get started with spinning, and make a bit of yarn that you can use for practice or make a bit more and create a completely handmade gift for someone this Christmas. Spinning is fun, easy, and a great way to include a bit more of your personality in your knitting and crocheting projects.
The class is $25, which includes all the supplies for your spindle, 2 ounces of roving to spin, and the class instruction. This class is limited to only 7 people, so please sign up now to reserve your space.
