Drop off your used computers at Free Geek Toronto, and come and learn more about computer hardware, free and open source software, and the environmental impact of computer electronics. We'll be celebrating Earth Day on April 24th: newbies, beginners, and people who just want to learn more about computers and their connections to our many environments are cordially invited. We conduct public tours of our facility every Saturday from 12-1 pm; on the 24th of April, tours will also be held at 10 am and 2 pm.
If the weather co-operates (i.e. no rain) we will be extending the celebration's indoor activities to the outside on the 24th of April, cleaning up the large unpaved parking lot. Donations of clean soil, gardening tools, a composter, seeds and seedlings will be appreciated, for planting on the 24th. Herbs and low-maintenance plants that grow well in the shade would be particularly welcome, as this parking lot and old glass factory, situated behind the houses on Vine Avenue is surrounded by mature trees.
So do visit us on April 24th, and learn more about responsible reducing, reusing, and recycling technology. Light refreshments will be available between 9:45 am and 4:00 pm. Doors will only be opened at 9:30 am in the event of rain. On the 24th of April, tours will be held at 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm.
