22 Year old Drew Gasparini is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, an award winning singer/songwriter, and an acclaimed composer who was born and raised in the Bay Area. His songwriting and performing lead him to Los Angeles to pursue an education and career in music. While in LA he played over 150 shows over the course of late 2005-07. His blend of rapid paced singing and percussive strum patterns on the guitar caught the ears and eyes of many new fans in Southern California, and his song “If You Walked Away” from his first release “Small Thoughts” was frequently played on indie radio stations such as Indie 103.1, college raio stations all over the country, and NowInLA.com, an online radio station. His voice has been described as “startlingly crisp,” and in January 2006, he was dubbed “Best New Sound in Hollywood 2006” by Songwriter International Magazine. After that and the release of his first EP, “Small Thoughts,” he was on LA Weekly’s new comer’s list, and Indiependentmusic.net’s artist of the month. He has shared the stage with such acts as Bay Area’s own Austin Willacy, Broadway’s Matt Caplan, the Elevaters, Grammy nominated artists the Plain White T’s, and Jason Mraz. His live performance is nothing short of mesmerizing; keeping the audience captivated and including them as if they were part of his band, Gasparini’s shows never disappoint ticket buyers. Drew’s love of the arts has also lead him on many other music related endeavors. His most recent was a surprise success called, “Crazy, Just Like Me.” A musical, the book, music, and lyrics of which were all written by Gasparini. Since it’s debut performance in the Bay Area, “Crazy…” has become an underground success in NYC. Selections of the show have been performed for benefits in New York, and recently it’s original cast members were acknowledged with an award for Best Dramatic Scene from the Marin Theatre Company for their interpretation of a scene from the show. It’s biggest claim to fame was making it to the top 30 out of 400 in the ASCAP/Disney musical theatre festival of 2008. Drew plans to make the journey to New York City this fall with his musical, and his new album, Overboard (produced by Austin Willacy).
