The powerful, graphic images created by Lubbock artist Alice Leora Briggs are stern reminders that life is precious and that darkness may descend at any moment unexpectedly. In the Dreamland series of twenty works exhibited Briggs uses a historic technique called sgraffito to scratch white lines into a black surface as a response to the artist's experiences exploring Ciudad Juarez 2007-2009.
