Dream Job
Dream Job are a duo of two guys named Ben who grew up together on the North Shore of Massachusetts and now live with their girlfriends in New Haven. Ben L. plays guitar and sings, and Ben H. plays a tambourine, a drum, and a computer. After Ben and Ben's last musical collaboration found it impossible to reproduce its studio recordings in a live setting, the pair formed Dream Job with a more stripped-down approach in mind, indebted doubly to primal garage rock and the ambient textures of the mid-20th Century avant-garde. A series of nightmarish weed-fueled jams followed. Finding common ground in their love for minimalist techno and the Detroit Cobras, the two Ben's spent a couple of afternoons recording a 5 song EP (downloadable for free below), and have devoted the past several months honing their chops and purchasing new and exciting effects pedals. What's next for the band? Quitting their day jobs to pursue their Dream Job.

The Black Marias are a gutsy trio of Yale freshman who hit their instruments too hard, pounding out catchy hooks and choruses on acoustic guitar, violin, and garbage-comprised "drum set."

Chilled Water Supply
Chilled Water Supply is a one-year-old jazz ensemble based at Yale. Performing a mix of original tunes, standards, and unique covers, CWS blends a variety of jazz genres with a unique and original sound. The band has performed at numerous venues and private functions in the New Haven area, and recently made its debut on the New York jazz scene. CWS was also one of the finalists in the student band competition to perform at a university-wide concert last spring. The group released its first album in spring 2010, and released its second, Charades, in December.
