The City of Safety Harbor and the Safety Harbor African American Alliance (SHAAA) are currently producing the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration being held on Saturday January 19, 2008 starting at 8:00am.
The event will start at the Safety Harbor Community Center with a Pancake Breakfast and a short program featuring local speakers. The program is free; however the Pancake Breakfast will cost $4.00. All the proceeds from the breakfast will go to support the SHAAA Scholarship Fund.
Everybody is invited to join the March down Main Street starting at 10:00am from the Safety Harbor Community Center, 650 9th Avenue South. The March will proceed from the Community Center to Main Street then onto Daisy Douglas Park located at 601 9th Avenue North. Daisy Douglas Park will host the Celebration from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Food, games and more entertainment will be part of the Celebration. Anyone interested in participating in the March should be at the Community Center by 9:30am.
All civic organizations, Churches and individuals are invited to participate in this day long Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 19, 2008 starting at 8:00am.
