HTML clipboard The investment each year by the Ponchatoula City Hall for this presentation is considerable. Eight strings of lights over main street were destroyed by Hurricane Gustav. Costs are estimated about $300.00 per string to replace. We are asking you to be generous in offering a contribution to the Christmas Lights Fund. You could buy one light bulb ($1.20), or a string of lights ( or a pole decoration ($220.00), or just contribute any amount you choose. All contributions will add to our City’s decorations. Each amount will be greatly appreciated. Festivities begin at 6 P.M. at City Hall with the lighting of the community Christmas tree. Following that, we will be entertained by the Ponchatoula High School Band. Christmas Tree's will be decorated by Ponchaotula's elementary students. The First Baptist Church will have a live nativity scene and a live petting area. The downtown businesses are open December 5th offering refreshments, and the choirs from our churches and schools will be performing throughout town. Santa Claus will arrive at Collinswood School Museum. Our City will be visited by most of its citizens on that really special night.
