Life is dreamy when Connie Ward (a terrific Ann Rutherford) is swept off her feet by Bill (George Montgomery), a dashing trumpeter in town with the Gene Morrison Band (a thinly veiled Glenn Miller Orchestra). The intrigue and politics get more and more complex as Calvin works to solve the crime and get his bill passed.
